I thought it might be an interesting exercise to ask a few questions about what people expected from their careers in the short, mid and long terms. I wish we would have done this the first week, but now is as good a time as any. At the end of the semester, we can take the survey again and see if anything has changed. If anyone has any categories to add or can make the survey better, please do.

This is good stuff. I was curious what people's non-law jobs would be, and also could we should probably get "law professor" in the mix as a category so I took the liberty of adding it.

Small sample set, but it looks like ten years after graduation and by the time you retire are virtually identical for each question, meaning the only difference is the prevalence of BigLaw right after graduation given debt. Obviously not surprising, but it begs the question why so many people don't expect to stay at big firms but end up doing it- a question with different sets of answers for everyone I suppose.
