I decided to come to law school because I studied anthropology in college and was fascinated with society and culture, but frustrated with the abstract nature of academic anthropology. Law school gives me the opportunity to satisfy my love of academia and ideological thinking, while still being rooted in the "real" world. I've never wanted to have one job for my entire life, and a legal education will hopefully give me the opportunity to try my hand at many different things. Initially, I thought I wanted to study international law, but after enjoying all of the programs and classes I’ve taken at Columbia so much, I realize there are many more areas of law, that could be very well suited to my interests and personality.
