I came to law school primarily to earn a salary that will permit me the possibility of buying a house and raising a family where I grew up (the Bay Area). I also expect the degree to provide the mental security of knowing a trade. The subject matter of law is of no special import to me; I would be equally happy studying any number of subjects. I wish I had majored in a more valuable field in undergrad, so that I might have foregone graduate school, but that option foreclosed itself long ago.
