I worked for an equity research firm for a few years after college, spending my days modeling the earnings of a few Internet companies. I hated it. Daily, I directed all my energy toward accomplishing thoroughly meaningless tasks--tasks that no rational society needs done.

I hope to find in law school what I did not find in my old job. First, I hope to find a community of people who are excited about ideas and the effect of ideas on society. Second, I hope to find work that I can wholly commit myself to--work I truly care about.
