Essay Assignment

Not more than 1,000 words. Under any circumstances.

It's your idea. The essay tries to exposit, weigh, and prepare the reader to explore it.

Because brevity is important, you will need an outline. Edit the outline carefully before you start drafting, in order to determine precisely what you want to say and the order in which you want to say it.

The most important stage of writing anything is the transition from the carefully-edited outline to the bad first draft. The next most important is the subsequent transition from the bad first draft to the better second. All subsequent stages, though necessary, depend entirely for their success on them. So we concentrate on those two stages in this wiki.

Making It

Log In. Clicking here:

Create First Essay

will create a page named TWikiGuestFirstEssay? and put you into an edit window for it. This page has some skeleton formatting, which you are free to ignore, and an explanation of how to restrict access to your paper.

Linking It

You may notice that, in addition to adding your name to the topic name, the paper writing template also includes a link to your user page. While not strictly necessary, this is good wiki etiquette. Similarly you are encouraged to add a link to each of your papers on your user page itself.

Because this is an assignment page, general editing is restricted. Please leave any comments below.
